Lexington’s Premier Musical Lessons and Instruction
About the Founder
Beth Dean didn’t choose music, music chose her. It is in her bloodline. It is what she does, where she lives, and who she is.
“As a child, it became obvious at the age of 5 that music was going to become an extension of me. I could not get enough of the piano. It became my friend, and still as I sit down to bring life to it…it brings life to me.
For 10 years, Beth was the director of music at Crossroads Christian Church where she developed and led a team of semi-professional musicians, creating a meaningful worship experience for the congregation.
In 2002, Beth recorded “GROW”, an original CD, showcasing a variety of styles.
Beth was influenced to perform by the music of Heart, Fleetwood Mac and other rock artists. Current influences include, Adele, Diana Krall, Sara Bareilles, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Her ability to transform her voice into many musical styles highlights a truly unique talent, and with that comes versatility for any event.
In 2010, Beth was chosen as the classical pianist for Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia during his stay at Castlepost in Versailles, Ky. prior to the opening of the 2010 World Equestrian games. During the final performance of her four night engagement, the audience was so taken by Beth, that the Prince invited her to join them for dinner.
Beth enjoys crafting music to fit the style of each event, ranging from small private engagements, to weddings of any size, and large corporate events.
Beth is an avid motorcyclist, a dog lover, and is working toward fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a pilot.
What Our Clients Think of Us
“Beth is a talented musician whose passion for music is contagious for her students. I have two children enrolled in piano lessons with Beth. Beth’s teaching encourages her students to continually improve. My children have made dramatic progress over the last two years because of Beth’s effective mix of inspiration and instruction. I would highly recommend Beth as the premier music instructor in the Lexington area.”
Beth Mankel has had such an impact on my family. Both of my children and my husband take piano lessons from her. Beth has brought a connection to my family and beautiful music into our house. Until we met Beth my husband played occasionally and my oldest daughter was picking up a little from in home lessons. When we met Beth it was an instant connection, like love at first sight. Now we have two pianos and they are both played daily in our house. There are often happy fights over who gets to play which piano. Beth’s appreciation and love of music is contagious. She is passionate about her work and her students. She becomes involved in the lives and the families of her students. Beth has high expectations of her students and knows when to push them to do better and she knows when they need a little bit of TLC in their lives. She works great with people of all ages. Our youngest began lessons at age 5 and had a blast with Beth.
Studio 88 is a family environment. You will often find Beth’s mom and husband in the studio working and playing music. Our family feels as if Beth and her family are a part of ours. When something good or bad happens in our family Beth knows about it. Thanks Beth for all that you have and will continue to do for our family. We love you!!!

Thanks for all your hard work my kids are more energized than ever. Steph and Will are always fighting over practice time.
Will was mad last night because he said Steph takes too long on each song and it was his turn. That is definitely a first!”
